Lethbridge Driving Academy is open

The Pandemic is not over and we all need to work together to stay healthy.

We are looking forward to helping our students safely get behind the wheel.

Alberta Health protocols and the relaunch guidelines as set out by Alberta BizConnect will be followed.

Working together with our students, their families and our instructors we will achieve our goal of keeping everyone safe and healthy.

We will be keeping up to date with any changes announced by the Government and Health authorities and will be implementing additional measures as necessary.

We trust our students and instructors will be responsible for maintaining their own good health and are already following safety measures as set out by Alberta Health.

Including the practice of good hygiene by washing hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer as directed when unable to wash with soap.

Cough and sneeze into your elbow, and avoid touching your face. Maintaining physical distancing of 2 meters whenever possible, and the use of a face mask

when physical distancing cannot be maintained, and whenever indoors at a public space.

Classroom:

We will be following Alberta Health protocols to make the classroom safe. The classroom will be set up to ensure appropriate physical distancing.

Extensive cleaning protocols are in place at the school and we are asking that students do their part and use proper hand washing and sanitizing techniques.

Students must wear a mask and are welcome to bring their own sanitizers and cleaning products if that makes them feel more comfortable.

Together we can create a safe learning environment.

Students are asked not to attend if they say yes to any of the following questions on the day of class:

1. Are you feeling sick now with fever, cough, sore throat or runny nose?

2. Have you or anyone you have been in close contact with been outside of Canada in the last 14 days?

3. Have you, or anyone you have been in close contact with, been exposed toCOVID-19?

In-Vehicle Lessons:

Our existing policy of cleaning our vehicles between students will continue with enhancements.

This cleaning regime will include a thorough wipe down with an appropriate disinfectant cleaner, of the steering wheel, gear shift, parking brake, signal light and

headlight switches, the middle console and cup holders, seat belt straps and buckles, seat adjusting handles, inside and outside door handles, door locks,

power window buttons, rear-view mirror, side mirror buttons and visors.

When the instructor confirms the driving lesson with the student, the students will be asked the following questions:

1. Are you feeling sick now with fever, cough, sore throat or runny nose?

2. Have you or anyone you have been in close contact with been outside of Canada in the last 14 days?

3. Have you, or anyone you have been in close contact with, been exposed to COVID-19?

The lesson will be postponed for the appropriate isolation period if the answer is yes to any of these questions.

Likewise, if the instructor feels ill or finds out they have had contact with someone who has been exposed to COVID-19, the lesson will be postponed.

We encourage open communication for safety, simply contact the office to reschedule any missed lessons.

When the instructor and student meet for the lesson and while outside the vehicle the instructor and student will maintain the proper physical distancing of at least 2 meters.

We are asking our students to be proactive in their health and safety and to use proper hand washing and sanitizing techniques including cleaning their cell phone and license.

Before entering the car the student and the instructor will both put on face masks. If the student does not have a face mask they will not be able to drive that day.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding of the importance of safety in these uncertain times.

The Pandemic is not over and we all need to work together to stay healthy.
